Georgia Future Stars 

In all tournaments NFHS will be the official rules of each tournament

With the following exceptions

1. Age control date MAY 1, 2017 will be the date to determine ages.
Photocopies of birth certificates and team insurance will be required at all events.

2. Protest fee: $300.00 cash on rules interpretation ONLY

3. Game time starts at the completion of the coin toss. 

4. Home team is determined by coin flip in pool play. For bracket play the higher seed is home team.

5. A team may start and finish a game with 8 players but must take an OUT in the vacated 9th position until the player arrives at the field and can be inserted into the line-up.

6. Time limits pool play 
1:20 for 6u-8u  
1:30 for 9u-10u
1:40 for 11u-12u
1:45 for 13u-14u  
1:50 for 15u-16u
2:00 for 17u-18u
Time limits bracket play is the same as pool time limits. 
Pool games can end in a tie. 
All tied bracket games after regulation will go to last batted out on 2nd base with no outs to start extra innings.

GFS reserves the right to change game times Pool and bracket if there is a threat of weather conditions in an effort to get the tournament completed.

7. No pitching limits. But please use arm care correctly. 
Georgia Future Stars is not an arm monitor. All coaches are responsible for the health and care of your players arm. As travel coaches you know what your doing and your parents should feel comfortable in your pitching choices. No game is worth hurting a young players arm.

8. Once a pitcher has been removed from the mound and the next pitcher takes his first warm up toss from the mound, that pitcher may not re-enter the game as a pitcher.

9. Visits to the mound: NFHS rules are in play. Each team is allowed 3 charged visits to the mound in a game. A charged visit is a trip to the mound in which a manager or coach does not remove the pitcher. After 3 charged visits to the mound, every visit to the mound will result in that pitcher being removed.

10. Baseballs: all teams to provide 2 new baseballs per game. 

11. Metal cleats in ages 13 and up only.

12. Bats 
12u and under must have BPF 1.15 and all bat sizes are acceptable.
13u and 14u -5 and lower bats 
15u and up -3 bbcor or wood only 

13. Numbers are required. Matching uniforms are not

14. Weather: Georgia Future Stars sometimes needs to change the game times and format in an effort to get the tournament in. Coaches and players accept these conditions when entering a GFS tournament

15. All teams may use a EH if they choose to bat 10.
Both an EH and DH may be used at the same time. 7u -14u may bat their entire line-up and have free substitutions. If using a continuous line-up then the last batted out will be used as a courtesy runner for your pitcher or catcher.

16. Free defensive substitutions throughout the game except for the pitching position. 

17. Run rule: 20 after 2, 15 after 3, 10 after 4, 8 after 5

18. 6u-8u Coach Pitch 
A ball must go 20-feet in front of home plate to be fair. A fair ball arc will be drawn on the field.
Big barrel bats are allowed. 
Infield players must stay behind the safety arc until the ball is hit. The safety line is 30-feet from 1st base to 3rd base in front of home plate.
10 players are on the field with 4 being in the outfield. The 4th outfielder may not play an infield position. All outfielders must stay behind the base line.
Free substitutions on defense. batting order must stay the same.
NO bunting
Defensive coaches are allowed on the field
Umpires will call time after every play and will call dead ball. Time should be called as soon as the lead runner is not attempting to advance. 
A player can only be intentionally walked 1 time per game.
Infield fly rules DO NOT APPLY.
A batter will receive a MAXIMUM of 6 pitches or 3 swinging strikes. A batter fouling the ball on the 6th pitch or after can continue their at bat until they take a pitch or swing and miss or hit the ball.
Courtesy runner for the catcher only. Last batted out.
When a batted ball hits the pitching coach it will be the umpires judgement call if the coach did not make an attempt to avoid the ball and if the batter is out or another pitch is warranted.
A defensive pitcher may not leave the pitching circle until the ball is hit. 7 runs max per inning. Unlimited in the 6th inning.
